NINA BULGAKOVA
I have been working in sculpture since 2022. My current body of work consists of bas-reliefs in various sizes, ranging from large-scale pieces to miniatures, all made from natural materials. These works balance between geometric minimalism and organic, volumetric forms.

My sculptures reflect on the physical, psychological, and emotional processes triggered by dramatic life changes, particularly focusing on immigration and adaptation—experiences I have lived through myself. I aim to explore emotions such as fear, anxiety, joy, and the sense of novelty that emerge during moments of transition. Through my work, I address the stress of detaching from familiar environments and loved ones, the impact of immigration on family relationships, and the complex engagement or alienation from a new society.

These pieces speak to those undergoing similar processes of adaptation, as well as to those who are curious about these themes. While drawing on familiar imagery, the works invite viewers to engage in the interpretive process, leaving behind clear narratives and opening space for individual exploration.
I am open to new opportunities, collaborations, and projects
